SEATTLE — The Coast Guard suspended a search Tuesday afternoon for a 54-year-old Bainbridge man who went missing Monday evening in Rich Passage.

Crews in three boats and two helicopters searched over 400 miles.

The Coast Guard received a report from Bainbridge Island police around 6:30 p.m. Monday of a 15-foot unmanned boat adrift.

A vessel from Seattle arrived first and found the boat containing a fishing pole and open tackle box, but no fisherman. The man’s wife confirmed that his truck and trailer were at the Port Orchard Marina boat ramp.

The man was dressed in blue jeans and a sweat shirt. He wasn’t believed to be wearing a life jacket.
